Word from the president – Action Parents: a new blog!

Kévin Roy, FCPQ’s president

Dear parents,

I am proud to launch a new project today: the blog Action Parents. The blog complements our offer of services to inform and support parents throughout the province, in order to help them accompany their children towards success and get involved in the education network.

The blog will feature the same type of articles as in the magazine Action Parents, but the content will be published continuously, and the format will be more flexible.  The blog will be a platform to highlight success, wellness, coeducation, parental involvement, school life and the parents’ perspective! One key objective is to offer parents the opportunity to share their testimonies, ideas and good practices.

Are you interested in writing for the blog? Contact us for more information! Suggestions for English-speaking collaborators are welcome!

As for me, I will continue to address you on a monthly basis on the blog, rather than in the newsletter, to tell you about the latest news from the school community and our Federation.

Speaking of news, in the last few weeks we have welcomed a new Minister of Education, whom I look forward to meeting with to discuss parents’ priorities in terms of school success and well-being, as well as parental engagement.

I am also excited about our first General Council of the 2022-2023 school year, during which FCPQ delegates will meet in person or online to discuss issues affecting involved parents, such as the ideal conditions for student success, handling complaints in the school environment, the new Quebec culture and citizenship course, and the school lunch experience, all with very interesting guests.

Finally, I would like to thank each and every one of you, dear parents, for your commitment to the success of our children, whether it is by accompanying your children on their journey or by volunteering in the school community!

Until next time!
